A
land rich in history and traditions, Canavese enchants the visitors
with its landscape, its castles and the folklore.
In the past centuries it had been a land of conquest for armies
in transitions, and this strengthened the inhabitants' character,
making it bold and rebellius to abuses and oppresors: the medievel
legend of Violetta, the beautiful miller's wife who rose against
the tyrant breaking out people's revolt, is the symbol of these
people and every year, during the famous Carnival of Ivrea,
she is recollected through the so-called "battle of the oranges"
which reinterprets Canavesians' spirit.
Canavesian cooking could not be less so: rich in traditions
and flavours which can be tasted only in this land. Salumificio
Nadia with its products proposes to the consumers the discovery
of the salted meat typical of the canavesian area. |
